About the author: Mabel Collins (1851-1927) wrote over 40 novels but she is best remembered for her mystical work Light on the Path, which remains a classic of Theosophical literature. From September 1887 to February 1889 she was co-editor of the journal Lucifer with H. P. Blavatsky. She is also remembered for her work for animal rights and her campaign against vivisection.
