About the author: A former teacher, Shirley Nicholson was chief editor of Quest Books for 10 years. She then "retired" to Krotona Institute of Theosophy in Ojai, CA, where she served as director for the Krotona School for 7 years. She is currently the Resident Head of the Krotona community. Her publications include The Seven Human Powers: Luminous Shadows of the Self, Ancient Wisdoim—Modern Insight, as well as compilations of several anthologies such as Gaia’s Hidden Life, The Goddess Re-Awakening, and Shamanism.
