About the author: Elaine Austin de Beauport is a teacher, researcher, and educational innovator. Her long standing interest in human and spiritual development led her to one particular area of research—the brain. In 1979, she founded the Mead School for Human Development, and the Self-Care Training Program, which she teaches to medical professionals and educators in North and South America. She has taught every age from two to eighty, in pre-school, elementary, and secondary school, as well as college and post-graduate courses. Dividing her time between New York City and Venezuela, de Beauport continues to teach adults in both North and South America.
